1 more year to go

Just one more year of full hardwork, effort and dedication and I am already done with college. Yes, you read that right, I am already on my senior  year.  A little more effort and I am already a graduate. I will admit that I am very very excited to graduate! I can finally be free from school and can now work and earn money. I can finally get to buy all the things I want.

But of course, just like how we felt back in senior year in high school, there is excitement, but there is also sadness. And this one is a bit different than being in high school. When I get to graduate from college, I would really have to say goodbye to school. So I believe that I should cherish my final moments in college, this is probably the last time that I am going to enter a classroom. I will enjoy the moments with my friends, this is the last time we can spend time together in school. But I should also not forget to prioritize my studies because I cannot afford to extend! I have to graduate on time and I have to graduate on time. In conclusion, my advice for myself is "Carpe Diem" ! :)

Congratulations on your last

Congratulations on your last year! Yes, college and student days will not come back - the friendships and the fun which you might have when you move on to your next level in life will not be the same! So my advice is enjoy the college life while it exists. Of course, you also have to be focused to finish the last round and get good grades. But you seem to be a student who knows what to do!

Also, you should already start making plans aboutt he next step and jump into action regarding that: like preparing the resume, shortlisting the companies that you want to apply and research about them and start sending out applications! I am sorry if I sound like trying to spoil your fun. But the real bubble burst comes now: you might think that when you earn your own money you can spend it on whatever and however you like. It usually doesn't happen so! When people start earning money they will even think thrice before buying a new pair of shoes - own's own hard earned money is more valuable and they hate to spend it! So my bet is most probably you will open a savings account and start saving! ;)

Anyways, all the best!

That's really great!! I wish

That's really great!! I wish you a successful life after your college education. I hope things go well for you. I hope college life has been fulfilling for you. Do not forget your friends and the networks you have formed in your stay in college....you will need them even after graduation! Otherwise I am so happy for you!! I, on the other hand, have three more years till I graduate. I am still enjoying college life with its ups and downs. At one point, I'm jealous of you for saying goodbye to all nighters, college finals and midterms, boring lectures and all the hustles of college life....on the other hand, I am pitiful that you will be saying goodbye to friends, fun college activities, parties (lol! That's really the heart of all the fun stuff in college), and college (at least I know I'll miss this part!)

I really don't want my senior year to come...I think I'll just break down if I have to leave college life, at the same time I'm so excited to join the job market, make a successful career and finally make use of my education. It does feel fulfilling when you finally see the benefits of your education...

I wish you all the luck in the world as you make the final run in this race....Good luck, especially with your senior thesis....that thing is so stressful..but you'll make it! :)

Hello guys!

Thank you for taking time to read my blog post and to the advance greetings. I really appreciate it! Yes I agree with you @new kid on the block, I have to enjoy college while it lasts, though I might consider taking masters, college is really different. It is very stressful and at the same time it is fun! I also understand that this is really the time to burst my bubble, thanks for your advice and helping me realize it this early.  It is really great to plan ahead of time. Being preparedwon't make me panic after I graduate.  Yes of course, spending your hard earned money is hard to do, you are right. I will save money for future use! @iracquel yes friends and networks in college should not be forgotten, they can be of great help after graduation. Who knows, you might work with them after graduation. Enjoy your years in college, though you still have a long way to go. Seize the moments! I know you can't wait to bid goodbye to all nighters, but I am sure you will miss it after you graduate! So make the most out of it, you can enjoy college life while working on your academics :)

the last year
Keep in mind that the last year is the most beautiful one and at the same time, the hardest. You will have to learn how to combine studying with friends and family, you might start looking for a job, things will never get easy. In my final year I was so excited I did not know what to do, if I should study hard or party hard…after I thought about my future for a little while I said that it would be more important for me to study and then, relax and in the end have a little fun. My parents were by my side and they always supported me, they never argued with me in my final year because they understood how my temper was. When college was over, I was like a diver who just plunged into the sea. I was so free, and because of the stress, I slept a whole day. After that I started sending CVs, going to interviews and so on, but after all I was free of studying. Well, if you think about it, you never stop learning, every day around you, there are many opportunities and you learn just by walking on the street, or reading a label. Congrats on your final year and keep studying, after all, that is the reason why we were created.

Happy B-lated Congratulations!
I relate with you fully because that's how I felt my senior year of college. I graduated May 2011 and it was a sad moment for me. Also, I was in a bit of shock you can say. I could not believe that four months had gone by so quickly. I wanted to shout "hallelujah" but at that same time "nooooo"!  Setting up for graduation and getting all of my last minute assignments done were a pain to my rear. There was so much going on that I felt like my head was about to fall off. But then I thought to my self, 'wow, this is really my last year. I will soon be entering in the real world.' It's like you want it to end but don't want it to end, so you're basically confused.  I had no idea where my life was headed after graduation. My last two months in school is when I started applying for jobs; I started too late. Once I was actually out, I felt really depressed because I had no job and everyone back at VCU were having the time of their life! A four-year college experience really has a life-time affect on you. It becomes something that you are used to and that you love. I wish I could go back to my first moments at VCU and be a first-time freshman again. But I guess life goes on. I'm just happy I graduated!

Well Done
Congrats on finishing your collegiate studies! I'm sure there was a point (or two) where you were wondering if you were really going to get through, but obviously you did! You'd be surprised how many people don't actually make it to the end, though we all start with high hopes. I graduated about two years ago now and let me offer some advice from what I've learned thus far. Start job hunting now! You don't seem to want to continue your studies so go ahead and start looking immediately. If you want to work in your field, ask your professors about internships or any positions they know of that can help you get some entry-level experience. Experience is a lot of what keeps people out of their dream jobs, but I think being persistent always counts. And this might sound a little disheartening, but look for opportunities outside your field. I happened to have a teaching position while I was in school, so after graduating, I just got promoted (and a raise). And even though I was grateful for this, it was still just a job because my passion is art. Even today, I still haven't quite broken into that field (various reasons) and have secured an even better teaching position. Keep your positive outlook and make sure you stay focused on your goals, even after you get your diploma .

1 More Year to Go!
I am also working on my last year of school, congratulations to you, it feels good to almost be done doesn't it? As I'm typing this, I'm looking at the date of your blog and it was back in May which means you are close to only 6 months left, great job! For me, there will be no bittersweet because I've been going to school online for the past two years and cannot wait to be done. It is hard for me to juggle full-time school with owning a business and having two kids to run around and keep busy. I will be happy to have my degree and be able to start seeking work and learning a new routine with life after school! It is such an accomplishment to reach the end of something you've been working so hard on. It takes serious motivation, determination, and persistence to follow through with something because it isn't always a cake walk. Life throws challenges at you that make you feel as if you want to quit. That would certainly be easier sometimes, but kudos to you and others who stick it out despite any hardships.  So, here's to only one more year left and keep pushing on for those who have longer! Hang in there, it will be worth it in the end!

One More Year

Senior year is the year where you get to have the chance to think of everything you’ve been through, of all the obstacles, the hardships, the pains, sacrifices, joys and all those things in the past that made you of who you are right now and the things that somewhat changed you in every way. This is the year when you would realize that you have learned and you have done enough to prove to all of them that you can be who you want to be. I’m starting to get emotional with this year now because after this semester, I’ll finally be enrolling as official 4th year Business Administration student major in Operations Management and I still have goose bumps whenever I think of it, because I never thought I’d reach this stage. They say that this is the most crucial year because it’s either you’ll have it or you’ll lose it. I’ve had enough, I have sacrificed enough to reach this stage and I’m not gonna let anything or anyone come in my way to stop me from reaching my goals. I am actually having some countdowns just to motivate and encourage myself more since this will be my last year in collge, then I must make most of it. I have been waiting for this moment in my life and I’m not gonna let it slip away, I’ll fight for this and I’ll do my best to achieve the thing that I’ve been longing to have, ULTIMATE FREEDOM.

One More Year 2

I would like to continue and add something on my previous comment on this blog post, to me, senior year could also be considered as the most crucial part of one’s life. aside from preparing for your thesis or feasibility studies, preparing for critical requirements and all, you need to prepare yourself too since this is the time where you need to strengthen yourself, to ready and equip yourself with faith, courage and determination plus motivation in order to survive the real world. After college, you will be facing different people, some of them will not understand you, so as a newbie to this world, you must learn to adjust and you must learn to be flexible in order to deal with them because you’ll be needing them someday in order to survive, say for example your boss. There are lots of bosses out there who are not really that approachable or something as how we wanted them to be. You must learn to understand them specially those bosses of the corporate world because they really need to be like that in order for their organizations to grown and be more productive and effective in dealing different types of businesses. Yes, prepare yourself since after this year, you have to be independent, you don’t want to live still inside you mother’s dress or father’s pants right? You were trained to be independent, therefore, give justice to the many years of sacrifice just to reach what you have right now, or where you are right now.

Bittersweet good-bye
Your last days on campus can be bittersweet. What a grand accomplishment to graduate, but what about your friends and your favorite coffee cart?  Almost everything about your life is going to change.  Be sure to enjoy the last bit of time you have left. Visit your favorite spots on campus and have one last latte.  For me, my farewell was an order of sweet potato fries from the food court, a cherry Pepsi and one last picnic under my favorite tree. Even though you are excited to hit the road after all of those long days and nights studying it might not be your last chance to be in school.  While it is not for everyone, I would recommend looking into a graduate degree.  A higher degree would be a benefit to you and your career.   A great thing about grad school is that you are only studying the subjects for your major.  No more requirements for things you will never need.  It is a time to get focused and really get good at what ever it is that you are studying.
