Introduce Yourself

Hello Friends My name is Nagraj and I am new to this forum. A little bit about myself; I am an MBA student at INSEAD and currently working out of Spain for my internship. My Personal / Academic Background I studied and grew up in Mumbai and obtained a B.Sc (Physics) degree from Mumbai University. I subsequently worked in a Shipping and Logistics company for 8.5 years and then decided to equip myself with an MBA. In my 8.5 year career, I worked in India, Thailand, Singapore and frequently travelled across the globe for work. I speak 6 Indian languages and 3 foreign languages. My electives at business school revolve around Corporate Strategy, Marketing and Finance. I guess this is good enough for starters. I am here to help other fellow members looking for guidance on GMAT, B-school admissions or for that matter a review of course packs etc. I also look forward to tapping on the reviews by other members for my benefit. I'm pursuing my degree in Business Management at De La Salle University Manila, exercising my versatility through venturing different aspects and branches of business. I have gone through the loops of finance and now I'm studying operations, business information systems, organizational development, business research and other business related subjects. Far from that, I take special interest in literature and reading fiction has always been my top past-time.

Hi friends, here is my first post on this great forum. For a change i did study wildlife management course, based on the DNA and reproductive biology studies, the centre is setting up a satellite facility for the conservation of endangered species with a view to creating germplasm( sperm and egg) and tissue banks, and carrying out research in the areas of in vitro fertilization, artificial insemination, cloning and molecular breeding of endangered species such as tigers, lions and leopards. There is collaboration with the Chief Conservator of Forests, Andra Pradesh and the the Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad. So friends if you are interested in doing Biological based study approach here and i hope my first post will be helpf for those who are really interested in wildlife .

It's a unique college experience to go live in New York City but I've loved every second of it. I hope that my advice can be a help for some of you getting used to the college life. My name is Jamie and I will be a fourth year Physics major this coming fall semester at the State University of NY at Plattsburgh. For those of you who don't recognise Plattsburgh, its a small town up near the Canadian border. This summer I am working on my Advanced Honors Thesis and taking my Graduate Record Exam. I also work retail part-time in an assistant manager type position.

  Hi everyone! It’s nice to see so many active members already on this website! I’d prefer to keep my real name private so everyone on here can just call me “Java.” So, I’m an English major currently attending a college in Maine. I just completed my first two semesters and loved it. I can only hope that every college freshman can have an experience that is just as amazing. I’m also in the Honors program so I got some nice perks along the way. I hope to get to know everyone a little bit better and you can all look forward to seeing me on the forums.   Take care!  

Hello Java and welcome to the site!  It's amazing to see another couple passionate English majors here.  Sometimes it's difficult to find the ones who aspire to be writers rather than teachers.  I wonder if I'm the only one who's felt like we English people are constantly pushed towards teaching, especially by our parents.  Mine can't see anything else good about the major.

Hi Java. I am also in the Honors Program at my school. If your program is anything like mine then you must have taken some pretty interesting seminar courses!

 Hi everyone. My name's Jamie and I'm a history graduate student at the University of Arizona. I focus on nineteenth and twentieth century British history, although I have other interests as well: history of sexuality, history of medicine, world history, just to name a few.  I was a history major as an undergrad, but I went to law school after graduating. I soon realized law was not for me and switched over to the history Master's program. I have worked as a tour guide, writer, and teacher, among other things. I think I will probably go back to teaching after grad school, although I haven't decided at what grade level yet.  Aside from my academic interests, I like travel, comic books, and all things sci fi.  Looking forward to talking about classes and textbooks and hearing other people's experiences.

 Hi Java and Abnormalalien, congrats on being in honors programs. I was in the honors college as well when I was an undergrad and those were the best classes I ever took. Any interesting seminar courses?

Hello, My name is Shayla and I am currently a student at the University of Madison, Wisconsin. I completed my undergrad at the University of Anchorage, Alaska and the University of Seattle, Washington. I started off after High School at UAA and was a double major taking on anthropology and chemistry while battling with my pre-med courses as well. The course load was quite a bit to handle but it was well worth it. After about two years of such a rigorous course load I transferred to the University of Washington in Seattle and took an intro. course to psychology for the experience. I ended up loving it and dropped anthropology for psychology. I am currently in my third year of Medical School and am working steadily toward a Ph.D in psychology and an M.D. majoring in chemistry.    

Last year I took a vacation to Spain and absolutely loved it. It made me think back to when I was starting off Med. School and I was considering a study abroad program centered out of Spain and decided to go with Florence, Italy instead. To this day I wish I had gone to Spain instead.

Hello,  My name is Disha and I am currently a senior in high school. I am applying to colleges this fall, but am not fully decided on what I want to major in. I enjoy math and science, but not history so much. I am looking forward to making friends on here and getting some feedback on which majors I should and shouldn't consider. My brother is a junior in college and he attends Northwestern University. He is helping me through the application process but I would like some feedback on here as well!
